How did you tar them up? Did you use the "Backup Evolution Settings" function within Evo? You could try creating a new account with a clean config of Evo to see if the issue is with Evo itself or with your specific setup. In anycase there has been a long (a v.loooong) thread recently about Evo 2.32.1 on FreeBSD (which I see you are using - you didn't actually say) and it looks like the port isn't fully working yet (that's just reading between the lines), so it might be worthwhile engaging with the FreeBSD community about this.
