Hi, I have created and delete a series of new events but was unable to reproduce.. Looks like I do not have this problem anymore. Will report a bug if I catch it again.

Hi, not true, libgdata is used only for address books, calendar uses CalDAV internally. Nonetheless, having a bug report with exact steps, as detailed as possible, is always welcomed.
