Well - thx very much to all of you for your really speedy and helpful responses. seriously. Once I got the command-line squared away it spit out LOTS of great stuff AND Evo starting working as it should; pulled mail and quit successfully. Not to be crude, but it was as though it was constipated and then finally, ahem... cleared itself. Can send it, but it's now working I doubt there's much to see.
