Hi Adam

Thank you very much for replying.  The chap on the Sabayon forum has
been very helpful, and with his aid I've managed to get the agent
running, and seemingly done everything else necessary to allow Evolution
to decrypt email.  However the same problem remains and at this point
I'm preparing to abandon the distro altogether (I have other issues with
it too).  I'll try another distro and see how I get on.
