Hi,
you are right, I also noticed recently that the UI of an appointment
reminder freezes when I click 'Dismiss' there. I do not know for how
long it takes though, maybe I just begun to notice it, because I setup
some reminders recently.
Feel free to file a bug against evolution, thus it's not forgotten.
