I hope you will forgive me if I'm doing this wrong but I'm Newbie at UBUNTU and Evolution. Trying anyway!
I had the same issue with not seeing any memos I entered as if they did not save. But looking at the file, (Help from one responder), I just noticed the Category was set to 'Unmatched' Changed it to 'Any Category" and bingo! all the duplicate memos appeared.
