Thank you, Pete. Here is what I received when I entered the
command string you suggested:
johnl@john-Vostro-3500:~$ xdg-mime query default
application/pdf
pdfstudio9.desktop
johnl@john-Vostro-3500:~$
However, when I go to open a PDF attachment, I get:
Save As
Open With Other Application...
When I click on Open With Other Application, I get
everything installed including ClamTK and MS Windows
applications installed under CrossOver, but
pdfstudio9.desktop.
I suspect that this is a Ubuntu problem and I am going to
post on Ubuntu forums.

AFAIK Evo use the XDG standards to open files - what does
xdg-mime query default application/pdf
say?
