You don't say what kind of mail account (or accounts) you have, e.g.
POP, IMAP, Exchange, etc. and it's not easy to tell because you don't
list anything about the various files, just give size totals ("ls -l"
would be more useful), however you could try File->Import to bring the
mail of interest into your Inbox.
