right, it's (probably) not for it. I asked a FireFox guy and he pointed
me to this bug report:

which has a link to a Mozilla bugzilla, which has a link... From one
bugzilla to another with various finding by multiple users.

If you'll read it through and see something about timestamp, then I
tried that (evolution runs links with gtk_show_uri() [1], which has a
timestamp parameter), but using the 0 there didn't make the browser
stay in the background for me. Either the browser doesn't parse/get the
timestamp properly, or it was meant differently, or the things changed
during the years.
