Please look at the above message, which I have quoted in its entirety
exactly as I received it from the list. Can anyone tell, without
reading it, where the original message ends and the reply begins? Or
why the last lines are messed up? I notice there is also an HTML
version of the message in which the quoted material is in a different
colour and for some reason the extraneous footer material is absent,
but this distinction is lost in the plaintext version, which many
people on this list prefer for a variety of reasons.

Standard practice on mailing lists is to use indented quoting, which a)
sets off the quoted material even in plaintext, and b) allows multiple
levels of indent for long threads of quotes within quotes. It also
happens to be the default in Evolution.
