The issue with OAuth2, well, I do not know. Hard to guess without
knowing the actual error message you are seeing (the text itself can be
selected and copy&pasted from Evolution, if it helps).
There used to be a problem with extracting the returned token from the
final response from the Google server, which had been fixed at:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=795997
which is part of 3.28.3 of evolution-data-server, which you should
have, thus it's most likely something else.
