Hi,
it looks like a bug. I can reproduce it with the current development
version (to be 3.33.1 in the future), even without the xclip, which is
not installed here. The Plain Text pastes the text fine, the HTML
format pastes what you quoted.
Probably file a bug, thus it's not forgotten, at:
