With the same version on all computers you can copy the data. There were
a thread about that about a month ago. ( You can search the archive at
http://lists.ximian.com/archives/public/evolution/ )


There were some voices about 'being nuts' when doing that. Others say,
they have done that several hundred times. With that, you can even sync
contacts.

But ensure, you have done a 'killev' on *both* computers, before copying
the data. A closed Evo isn't enough...


As you only wanted mails to be synced, there really is a better way: Set
up an IMAP server. Done.

All (local) mail is stored in ~/evolution/ -- the *ibex* and ev-summary
files are only internal data to speed things up AFAIK. They can be
restored from the mbox files.
