Bizarreness. Applying the whole patch in the office didn't help, as I said -- however, just removing the offending g_free() here at home did fix the composer though. I _had_ double-checked I was really running the right code; I'll do so again in the morning, and try applying the whole patch to today's CVS here to see if that makes it regress.
