Yeah, a lot of people have been wishing a real Trash folder. Keep up
bugging the developers, so they don't forget to implement it, when
porting to Gnome2 is done... ;-)


As a short term workaround, there is a setting that wont need expunging
every few days:

 Tools / Settings / Mail Preferences / Empty trash folders on exit
