For Korean or Japanese I highly recommend using the evolution-1.3
snapshots and evolution-1.4 when it comes out.  Font issues in gtk-1.2
make it extremely difficult to get fonts working correctly in older
versions.  You can find out how to install newer versions on rh8 from 
http://www.ximian.com/products/evolution/download.html

1.0.8 is very old now and no longer supported.
