Someone reported this a while back (a few months ago?) and so I signed up for a free web.de imap account and logged the packets. It turns out that web.de's imap server is broken.
When evolution requests the headers for each message (which is how it gets the from/subject/etc for the message-list), web.de sends us an empty string instead of the header block. I suggest you complain to web.de until they fix it (after all, it *is* a bug in their software, not ours). Jeff -- Jeffrey Stedfast Evolution Hacker - Ximian, Inc.
