usr-local-bin.org packages its files a bit differently than either Ximian or SuSE, and this has the potential to cause problems when upgrading. Try removing the gal2 package. It may well be that other packages depend on it. If it's just Evolution and related packages, it shouldn't be a problem to remove them as well in order to fix the upgrade path. If too many things depend on it, it might be best for us to provide a fix on our end. I've filed a bug describing my proposed packaging fix to this problem:
