Ahhh... I see the problem.

I found I have a nifty little problem here; I have "check for new mail"
set to 1 minute, and it takes umm a minute or more to check for mail...
Evo does not behave well. It gets sluggish, read-next-message (read or
unread) takes > 5 seconds. It's awful.

I just installed RH9, upgraded from 7.3, nahh, that can't have anything
to do with it... :-) Seriously, I think there's a change in IMAPs that's
making things behave differently (read: worse).

(I only upgraded to RH9 because a project I'm working on requires the
latest-and-greatest python as *default*. Whatever happened to backwards
compatibility, continuity, etc? Never mind me, I'm ranting.)
