Do these messages mean anything to you? What is a CORBA error?

Do the folders have icons? If so, then it means that the mail component is crashing on startup for some reason... Try launching it in its own terminal ("evolution-mail") before launching the app and see what it says before quitting.
Otherwise, it might mean that the power outage messed up something on your file system and now some bits are missing. In that case, try to remove and then re-install the Evolution package.
