I suggest first upgrading to the latest release, then if it still fails,
getting a backtrace via gdb of evolution, and sending it in with a bug
report.  Its obviously crashing when you try to start up the composer.

support.ximian.com has details on how to get a backtrace (search for
'backtrace').
