most of these above are just annoying yet non-fatal things.  although
since you're getting them a lot its pointing to possible installation
problems.

Not really sure.  If you're on a particularly slow machine with many
messages in the current folder, it could 'get busy' for a while. 
Otherwise ... bit hard to tell, i don't think its normal behaviour.
