Tried something else now. I erased everything in ~/evolution/local/Inbox exept the subfolders. Copied my backup of mbox to /var/spool/mail/plakat and started up Evolution to download all my messages again. That worked, there were all my e-mail again. Though when restarting Evolution Inbox is empty again.
