Gee, I can't think of any reason I ever *would* want to be notified of an event that's already passed. IMO, past events are utterly irrelevant and should *never* be notified for. Different strokes, I suppose. Of course, you're the developer, so you can implement it any way you like. I'm just trying to convey that there are other perfectly valid ways to use evolution, and if you want evo's calendar to become useful to more people, it wouldn't hurt to listen to those other people when they tell you that something sucks or is annoying... I can (and others have already) give you some pretty *%&^ annoying consequences of being notified of past irrelevant events, if you're interested in hearing them (if not, feel free to hit 'delete' now :). I'll give you an example in the way I use evolution. I have a workstation at work, a laptop, and a workstation at home that all run evolution. I periodically sync the calendars on all these machines, and in addition, I also sync my calendar with a palm PDA. 99.99% of the time, I first get notified of an event by my PDA. It's incredibly annoying to be notified 3 more times, after the event has passed, the next time I start up evolution on one of my other machines.
