Be aware, that 1.5 uses its own directory and therefore does *NOT* share
the data. This means, if you are retrieving new mails or editing your
Contacts, this will *not* affect your 1.4.x data in any way. However,
changes to the settings *will*.

Nope, you don't need them, as they are replaced by other packages
providing the same, IIRC. (Note: The devel packages are not necessary
for running applications, only for buildung and probably running some
snapshots.)

FWIW: I already had some 1.5 versions installed and tested parallel to
1.4.5. No problems, beside the manual installation.
