I upgraded my 1.2 Evolution to 1.4 and now it crashes everytime I start it. I love
evolution, but the upgrade process has stung me in the past too. I using Red Hat 9.0
and KDE. The docs say that this should be no problem (although my icon is now gone
and evolution does not show up on my KDE menu). Now when I start up evolution from
the command line I get this error:

####################
>evolution

(evolution:7633): evolution-shell-CRITICAL **: file e-storage-set.c: line 639
(e_storage_set_get_folder): assertion `g_path_is_absolute (path)' failed

gtkhtml-ERROR **: gconf error: Configuration server couldn't be contacted:
 CORBA error: IDL:omg.org/CORBA/BAD_OPERATION:1.0

aborting...
#####################

Things I tried:

1) evolution --force-shutdown (in case some weird file was left open)
2) removed my whole evolution directory, so it would be like a fresh install without
my old configs
3) updated everything from red carpet evolution channel.

Nothing work. Please, please, please.... anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks

David Kendig
