Errrm ... well, it //may// be related to a recent update to Gnome, I suppose, but it //was// working with Evo 1.4.6 under Gnome 2.6 on this cooker box, and the new mail notification only stopped after updating to Evo 1.5.7 ... though the timing //could// have been coincidence, I suppose <shrug>.
