Never mind - I went back and grepped through my local archive (when I actively monitored the list) and found what I was looking for.
There was a slider on the left-hand side of the calendar view which was in the "closed" position. Opening it up reveals my appointments. I originally looked for something like that, but kept grabbing the bar which separates the calendar view from the Folders list.. gotta be a bit more deft in my mouse-use in the future..! Cheers!
