Try upgrade to cvs evolution at least, 1.5.9.x has some issues with linking with some systems, perhaps?

Hi, here I use self built versions of Evolution and Gnome (only applications). I had evolution 1.4.5 and 1.5.5 and Gnome 2.4.1 (of course, older versions of both). Eventually I upgraded Gnome to 2.6.2 (gtk+ 2.4.3), built the packages as found and indicated in Gnome Release Notes. Despite other quirks (mozilla-gtk2 hangs in startup, gkrellm2 wont withdraw, and crashes when recompiled, epiphany crashes), ===> evolution(s) won't start anymore. <=== The very symptoms depend on unknown parameters. So I decided to upgrade gal, gtkhtml, (soup) to indicated new versions and upgrade to: # ################## EVOLUTION 1.4 g2 gal-1.99.11 g2 gtkhtml-3.0.10 g2 evolution-1.4.6 -nocheck --with-db3=$LIBDB3 --with-openldap=/usr/ldap --enab # ################## EVOLUTION 1.5 g2 libsoup-2.1.11 g2 evolution-data-server-0.0.94.1 g2 gal-2.1.10 g2 gtkhtml-3.1.15 g2 evolution-1.5.9.2 -nocheck --with-db3=$LIBDB3 --with-openldap=/usr/ldap --en The Situation changed only slightly. evolution 1.4 dies with OAFIID activation error, for an g_module_open if .../libevolution-addressbook.so ... unknown dl error Is there any issue with the indicated GTK libraries of: g2 glib-2.4.2 --with-libiconv g2 pango-1.4.0 g2 atk-1.6.1 g2 gtk+-2.4.3 After all I have a very bad feeling about the GTK+ related new libraries. Any Idea about that issue? Thank You very much in advance!
