if we added a "From " line, then we'd be munging the data which would be
a bug. So by not doing it, we are, in fact, doing the proper thing :)

A message and an mbox file are completely separate things. Only mbox
uses "From ", none of the other mailbox format does.

That said, I believe that there is already a feature request to be able
to drag message attachments into folders.
