        It documents the crash in Evolution-Data-Server when trying to purge a
lot of old calendar items.

I have the same performance issues with a large calendar file that you
describe.  I vaguely remember something about calendar performance
improvements being ported back to the 2.0.X release, but I can't seem to
find it anywhere.
