I am giving up on Evolution. As has been observed, it's a truly outstanding product as a desktop groupware tool, but I really need something that can sync reliably with my Sony Clie NX80. I thought Evolution would do it, but the conduits are simply too broken to be useful. Not only did it produce approximately 6,000 blank "to dos", it also broke the calendar configuration somehow on my Clie. The only fix for both was to delete both the ToDoDB and the DateBkDB on my Clie, which apparently broke my Clie's ability to sync reliably with even my Windows XP computer. I eventually had to do a hard reset, which resulted in my losing all of my calendar and task information from my Clie and from my Windows machine (I probably could have avoided that with some more careful planning, but it wasn't something I expected).
I tried MultiSync, but it required about ten different libraries which do not exist on my system. So I switched over to KMail and the KOffice suite of applications. There's no Mal conduit that I can find in KPilot, but KPilot syncs my datebook and my tasks and my address book quite well. I don't know if the problems I experienced are unique to me, but I'm guessing, from some other messages I've seen, that they're not. _______________________________________________ evolution maillist - [email protected] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution
