just trying to find out what's wrong
i replaced the actual domain name with xxx.yyy.zzz.edu in the following:

don't want to be offensive, but that sounds like your filter rule is
somehow wrong.
could you append the rule that you refer to? it should be in
"~/.evolution/mail/filters.xml" (please don't post the entire file - it
could contain private data, e.g. mail addresses).
