As long as I --force-shutdown and restart, everything is fine. I suspect it's losing a connection of some kind to the LDAP server, but thinks it's still active. It's getting frustrating. I had been using 1.4.5 up until about four or five months ago and had minimal problems, and I switched to a new machine (ubuntu hoary) running 2.2.2.2.1.1. I should probably compile evo from source and read all the ldap code, but I haven't had time to do so. Hmm.
