Erm...Enlightenment *hasn't* been updated recently. 0.16.5 was released
quite a while ago and is still the current version (which is what I am
using). I have gone through my configs again and I don't see anything
wrong...and like I said, this behavior is only observable in evolution
and not any other app.

It also doesn't seem to happen immediately. For example, I could click
in To: first and things would be ok, then I click in Subject and then
everything gets wacky.

As for bonobo, I think I have all my libraries updated, maybe I'm wrong.
Here are my package versions:

libbonobo2-1.0.7-2mdk
libglade-bonobo0-0.16-7mdk
bonobo-conf-0.11-1mdk
libbonobo-conf0-0.11-1mdk
bonobo-1.0.7-2mdk
libgtk+1.2-1.2.10-1mdk

So there it is...you may compare to the versions you have and perhaps
something needs to be updated. I could also try another wm (even though
I generally dislike using anything other than enlightenment, and would
rather stop using evolution than stop using enlightenment.).
