I had the same problem, and solved it like this
Right-click and select save to vcard-file or whatever it sais
Exit evolution (I ran killev just to be sure)
Remove evolution/local/Contacts/addressbook.db
Restart evolution
Import the file you exported before
After that everything worked greate
