Well...don't really have to play with this right now, so I ended up going to 2 seperate displays, as the 2nd head really just has a terminal, IM clients, gkrellm, xmms running, which kinda stay put.....
Thanks for the input, I think I'll come back to this later after midterms, etc are done....do some real debugging and see what's happening. Looks like it might actually be a hardware problem....some widgets are showing up (in GTK and QT apps), and others just plain die.
