if the debian packages are any indication, this bug has to do
with linking gtkhtml and gconf>1.0.4.  according to fejj in
#evolution, gtkhtml doesn't get anything out of gconf anyways
at this point (hasn't been tested much), so maybe try building
gtkhtml without gconf, or downgrading gconf to an earlier
version.
