not sure what type of specific environment you're looking for (or if i even know what you're talking about ;)), but one i've been using for over a year now that ROCKS is Jedit (www.jedit.org). completely written in Java, i believe it's under GNU, and has a wide array of plugins to use. ________________________ ///o-o\\\ Jamie LaScolea
