Are you using the Evolution-only install or the full install? Are you running under a GNOME session or under CDE? If you are running under CDE and executing `evolution' from the command-line, that might be the problem. Try running `evolution-nognome' instead. Otherwise, please try running `oaf-slay' and then `wombat' on the command-line to see if wombat has some problem starting up.
