Like Not Zed says, it is probably a problem with relative urls. 
gtkhtml-1.0.x had serious problems resolving relative urls properly. 
This issue should already be fixed in the development branch, if you see
problems there please report in bugzilla.  Another possible source of
problems is that the image downloading code doesn't seem to be 100%
reliable.
