The folder-selector always shows the entire folder tree, since in some storages (local and Exchange), you could have a Calendar folder that was a subfolder of a Mail folder. So no, you can't put your Calendar folder on an IMAP server, but it's not really "showing folders that it should not", though it could be presented more clearly...
