Evolution has problems with Xinerama. I don't think anyone really understands how to fix them. We know about it but we're probably not going to get any work done on it for 1.2. I think these things work somewhat better overall in GNOME 2 so the GNOME 2 port will hopefully be better in this regard. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
