Just a hunch, for reason I can't fathom, I often have to "killall gpilotd" to get syncing to work. There's some combination of conditions that make it seemingly hang. Usually, when this happens, I also can't search the Contacts database in Evo. That's with Evo 1.0.8 on RedHat 6.2, with gnome-pilot 0.1.65 and pilot-link 0.9.5, BTW.
