a variation on this... i have the same question, but have chosen (for hardware constraint reasons) to use only blackbox and not load any more of the kde/gnome desktops than absolutely necessary, so i don't have those GUIs to go through; which file(s) do i need to modify to change the default browser that evolution uses for links?
i do have some of gnome installed (enough for evolution, gnumeric and galeon basically) but not the full install. evolution appears to be looking at the system $BROWSER variable for its selection of browsers, i just haven't found where the original definition of $BROWSER is yet. i've changed /etc/X11/Xsession to BROWSER=`which galeon 2> /dev/null` after all prior assignments, replacing whatever may have been assigned (w/o actually removing/commenting out the supplied code) - to no avail. i added the same assignment in my .bash_profile - to no avail. logged out and back in after each change. where do i need to look at the file level, please? thanks, joe On Tue, 2002-09-24 at 14:41, Kenneth Porter wrote: > On Tue, 2002-09-24 at 03:04, Dennis Tuchler wrote: > > How do I set the default browser in Evolution > > Since I'm switching from Opera to Moz, and I just looked this up in the > FAQ, and am using KDE: > > Run gnomecc, and edit the URL Handler.
