My windows box uses the same settings to connect to the msn email servers. I did try all the other authentication types available in the list box, and each time I received an error of some failed authentication. I guess should ask if anyone has been successful using evolution to connect to the msn email servers. If more info about the error messages I get with each authentication type is needed, I will provide it.
Here is a link from Microsoft Support Services instructing the use of SPA authentication for their network: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;287604 On Wed, 2002-11-27 at 05:24, Kasumo Morris wrote: > host: pop3.email.msn.com > authentication type: NTLM / SPA > > when I do a send/receive I get the following error: > Error while 'Fetching Mail': > Unable to connect to POP server pop3.email.msn.com: No Support for requested > authentication mechanism. > This means what it says it means. Your server doesn't support that authentication type. Can't u use the (standard) password method? Else press the "check for supported types" button, then you'll see which'll work (those not supported will be grayed out in the list). -- Regards, Mathy Vanvoorden _______________________________________________ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution _______________________________________________ evolution maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/evolution
