probably a little of both ;-)
the "mailing list contails" filter rule isn't really for user-data. the
values that it needs to work properly have to match the regex rules that
it uses internally to extract the information from the headers.
Basically, it is best if you stick with creating these rules by
right-clicking on a sample message and choosing filter-on-mailing-list.
that being said, I'm not sure why it is matching everything with the
data you've given to it ("@ximian.com"). I'll try to look into this
later.
