EWG/OFED meeting minutes for May 29, 2012
1. OFED 3.2:
Status:
Vlad took all patches submitted so far and we have a daily build
All - please review to see no patch has left behind
Issues:
- SLES11 SP2: rdmacm & rdmaucm kernel modules are not loaded (issues
with compat library) - Vlad
- OpenSM new release does not bringup links - under debug by Alex Netes
- ibacm library - compatible with Redhat 6.x only (not suitable for
SLES) - Vlad fixed locally for OFED, but need Sean to fix the library
- There might be an issue with SRP backports - Mike will send a patch
to fix
Due date for RC1: This Thursday assuming above issues will be resolved,
with SLES11 SP2 and RHEL 6.2 only
2. Move to newer kernel:
Decided to move to kernel 3.4.
Pros to move:
- Have latest kernel - with all fixes there
- Be closer to the kernel
- Having experience in doing the kernel base change
- There is no real pressure on a release now
Vlad will send a schedule when to move
3. General:
- In GA: we should ensure no warnings in the backports compilation
- Treating bugs found in upstream kernel - postponed discussion to next
meeting
- There is a request to add kernel patches that were accepted upstream
- Getting help for the package build / install infrastructure - Need to
send a request to Jim - Tziporet & Woody
4. OFA Board subject:
- Jim Ryan raised a subject from OFA board regarding clarification of
the terms "OFED" and "OFS" (OFA Software)
On next EWG meeting few board members will join to present and discuss
this subject.
