Position: QA Testing Analyst Location: HERNDON, Virginia Duration: 4 Months The candidate will be responsible for creating test scripts/cases/data, executing test scripts, reporting, and participating in status calls. Must maintain a close, proactive working relationship with the business and development teams. The need to be detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills and be able to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment is a must.* Responsibilities: Q Perform quality assurance analysis and testing on an Enterprise-level web application for the mortgage industry. Q Focus of the effort is on batch process modules, UI screens, and Reports. Q Work with development, QA, and Automation engineers to research, design, and develop complex test automation units. Q Development and execution of test plans. Q Generating test cases/procedures. Q Participating in inspection(s). Q Establishing test data approaches. Q Tracing test cases to requirements. Q Building automated test scripts (using automated testing tools). Q Integration of individual test units into overall test suites. Q Execution and analysis of test cases and documentation of software defects. Q Development of detailed documentation of test results. Q Development of regression testing framework. Q Creation and Installation of test environment and test bed. Q Provide design documentation for the test automation projects. Q Participate in the technical review of test automation project deliverables. Q Participate in product feature design discussions that require test automation. Q Provide the first level of support for the automation framework and test automation units. Q Work with the Automation Infrastructure engineers to improve and enhance the existing automation framework. Q Maintain the test environments (e.g., data loads, database backups, restarting the servers, requesting deployments, troubleshooting issues). Q Enter and track defects using Rational ClearQuest. Q Communicate with support, business and development teams to resolve issues during test execution. Qualifications: Must*-Have Skills: X Excellent knowledge of Frontend and Backend testing techniques X Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). X Strong SQL Skills X Good UNIX Skills X Over Seven years of diversified experience in requirement study, system analysis & design, coding, documentation, implementation and testing (BLACK BOX as well as WHITE* BOX) of Client Server & Web applications for Functionality, Performance, Regression, Integration Testing and User Acceptance test (UAT) using Mercury and IBM Rational Automated tools and Recovery testing manually and using Automation tools under Windows and Unix environment. X Very strong analytical and problem solving techniques, presentation skills & deliverance and proven leadership qualities with emphasis on individual and team effort backed by good communication skills. X Proficient in development, execution, maintenance of Test plans, Test cases, Test scripts, Test specifications and Test scenarios. X Solid analytical and dynamic troubleshooting skills. X Knowledge of the Secondary Mortgage Market a plus. 3-5 years related work experience 3+ Yrs.
