Position Description: Experience Level: 4 year degree and 5+ years
experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Description: Provides technical consultation and support associated with
operating systems.
Shift (7:00 PM - 4:00 AM) Wednesday through Sunday ongoing support for:
Production servers
Critical test server environments for
Mock testing
Scalability testing
Infrastructure and Corporate testing environments Windows 2000 end of
life
228 remaining windows 2000 servers
Accomplished through refreshes and decommissions
May 1st Deadline
Tech Refresh
For servers that are outdated and models which are end-of-service
Accomplished through virtualization, refreshes and decommissions.
Ongoing throughout the year
Decommission old servers that are being refreshed/replaced
Follow go-forward decommission process
Create PAC2000/Remedy tickets to decommissions Incorporate go-forward
combined organization layered product agents to retrofit servers in cloud
and segmented DMZ (TZ-Transition Zone)
HPSA agent and configuration
HPOO agent and configuration
Altiris Client agents
PAC2000/Remedy agent and configuration
Symantec Endpoint Protection AV agent and configuration
NetBack up agent and configuration
Other layered security and server management products/tools and
configuration
Ongoing throughout year
Separation of DR and STE
Will affect approx. 150 physical servers.
3rd - 4th Q
Ebrokerage SQL upgrades
Upgrading from SQL 2000 to 2005 and adding 3rd node.
Est. Completion, March 2010.
TZ Foundry Refresh
Q1 - Q4 end date
Foundry to Netscaler upgrades.
OS MS Security Patching and server maintenance (firmware, drivers, HBA's,
RAID controllers, etc.)
Monthly throughout the year
All servers in Wells Fargo Advisors.
InDepth upgrade
Q2
Virtualization of 1 server
Planning to move re-architecture BPI servers out of Transition Zone
Strategic direction planning

Incorporate new SSOs into build process for cloud

Job Qualifications
A minimum of 6 years of distributed computing technical experience
with extensive knowledge of Microsoft operating systems including but not
limited to Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Microsoft Internet Information
Server 5.0/ 6.0/ 7.0 & Windows Server 2008/3 Enterprise Edition and regular
edition
Must have advanced knowledge and demonstrated skill sets in VMWare ESX
Server version 3.5 or higher
Excellent troubleshooting skills for operating systems and hardware
support issues/problems
Strong understanding of active directory, security as it pertains to a
Microsoft based hardened OS environment, TCP IP networking, application
servers running in a transition zone (DMZ) and experience with Microsoft
systems installation, configuration and support required
Knowledge of firewall ports and network infrastructure security
important. Application server technology recovery experience preferred
Industry certifications preferred including current Microsoft Windows
2008/2003 MCSE certification and VCP-VMWare Certified Professional
preferred.
On-call after-hours support on evenings, nights and weekends required.
